I arrived as a child in Blackburn at age seven. It’s been my home for the last 34 years.
My wife was born in Blackburn and my Children are all born in Blackburn so hopefully I can consider myself a Blackburn lad! Over this period, I’ve lived in Greenlane, Griffin, Feniscowles, Samlesbury, Witton and presently Cherry tree. I’ve tried to escape Blackburn several times but God has always said no. It’s easy to be down on Blackburn and just have a negative view of it and there are lots of problems. However, I love Blackburn. I love its people who are generally warm, funny, friendly, hardworking, industrious, and are a proud people. I think the area of Blackburn is stunning in its natural beauty. You don’t have to look so far until you see the most amazing countryside. Our town centre is quite amazing. The council have done a great Job. We’ve got some amazing parks, find me a park more amazing that Witton park!!! There’s great community Spirit in Blackburn I've just been looking at the tidy Blackburn campaign on Facebook. At a local level, which ever party you support, Blackburn would seem to be governed well. Often Blackburn has been on the cutting edge of social developments and work for the poor such as housing associations, healthcare etc.... Blackburn is culturally diverse Yes that’s a wonderful thing!!! Dare I say, it a great historic football club!! There are lots of problems in Blackburn which we should weep over but there are many wonderful things as well. I love Blackburn, I love its people and most importantly God really loves Blackburn! Pray for this town. Give God thanks for the many, many wonderful things there are. Lift up to Him the difficulties and the sad things. Please pray for local government and all those in authority in our local area to give them wisdom and Grace Pray for the prosperity of our town. But more important pray for the spiritual prosperity. God hasn’t forsaken Blackburn! We can see a move of God in this place. We want to see our people all communities, all areas, all cultures saved by the Gospel! Come Lord Jesus Come! Helpful Bible Verses Matthew 13:54 He came to His hometown and began teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? Luke 8:39 “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him. 1 Timothy 2 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

4/10/2019 0 Comments Day 24: Wednesday 10th April pray for our Sunday service preaching and leading.I hope you’ve been really blessed recently on our Sunday mornings. They have been wonderful times of worship and sharing together. However, behind the scenes there are hours and hours of preparation which has taken place to make everything work as smoothly as it can and that God is Glorified.
Preaching I want to pray particularly today for our preaching team. Its hard preaching, it takes hours and hours of prayer and bible reading and study to produce even the smallest talk and I know everyone involved works so hard. At Community Church Blackburn we’re quite a young preaching team. None of us has gone to seminary or bible college. None of us are professional academics or communicators. However, we all love Jesus, we want to see His kingdom come and want God to work more and more in the church. Please pray for strength and depth in our preaching team. Please pray first, that through the power of the Holy spirit, we get better at preaching Gods words. Please pray that we are gracious, loving, humble, gentle and wise but bold and uncompromising about the truth of God’s word. Please pray that we are discerning about what we say and have a close ear to what Gods saying. Please pray that there will be a prophetic edge but also a pastoral heart to our preaching and God uses it to change lives and make things new. Please pray to help us preach the truth of scripture and not our own opinions. Pray that God gives us a heart to ravage the scriptures as I once heard someone say. Please pray that we are diligent and wise in the way we handle scripture. Please pray that as a team iron sharpens iron and we are willing and able to receive feedback form each other and the rest of the congregation. Please pray that we move closer to God in our own lives and live our sermons as well as just preaching them. Please pray that Jesus is the centre and totally glorified in our preaching. Leading/Anchoring The other role that takes place on a Sunday morning which is critical to our service is the lead/ anchor role. The role is to introduce and hold the meeting together and do the notices etc... However, this role is also an extremely important function in a spiritual sense. The model of the early church was that one would bring a hymn, one would be tongue, one would bring a revelation etc which we want more and more to happen in our services. We really want full body ministry and for there to be freedom 😊 The lead anchors role is to weigh these words and activities then with spiritual discernment administer or bring these to the meeting in an orderly way that Glorifies God ensuring the church is built up. This is a tough job, is a huge responsibility and sometime will involve gently explaining to someone that a word, picture etc… may not be for now. Which as our church continues to grow will happen more and more. Please pray for all those that lead services that God gives them discernment, keep them close to Jesus and fill them with the Holy Spirit. Helpful Bible Verses 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. James 3:1-2 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. 1 Corinthians 14:26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. Did you know, to my knowledge, there is no meaningful Christian presence, chaplain or Christian Union in Blackburn College. Does that not make you sad? There’s a whole group of people at formative stages of their life not being touched by the good news of Jesus!
It’s a very tough time being a student there are a lot of voices influencing your life, lots of questions and there are big decisions to be made. Students also can be quite lonely and from my experience love to be fed. Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life all the answers about the world are in Him. There are opportunities for the gospel. Arguably there is a Harvest, but the workers are very few. Do we have the resources no! Do we really know what we’re doing no! I have no answers however, it’s my prayer to see an amazing student ministry at Blackburn College in fact at all colleges in Blackburn. Wesley Hall is even right next to the college so arguably if we were Anglicans Blackburn College would be our parish! Please pray for direction, vision and leadership in this area for church leaders Please pray for college and university students who are learning and already part our church family Please pray that somehow God provides a chaplain or a Christian Union at Blackburn College Please pray for workers in the harvest field in this area as the door is wide open for us to take the land 😊 I’m planning to attend the freshers fair at Blackburn College in September this year inviting people to church, praying for people and just talking and showing the love of God. If you’re interested and got a heart for this stuff give me a shout. Helpful Bible Verses Luke 10:2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” We read in the bible that the early church met together in large groups but also met together in smaller groups.
Even Jesus was involved in large groups and preached and taught to crowds of people but he was also involved in a smaller, closer group of people around him who Jesus shared his life with. If we take these principles on today, we can see that meeting together in larger groups on a Sunday is only half the story. If you’re part of our church not in one of our small groups, get yourself in one ASAP If you’ve stopped going, get back to one as soon as possible!!! I’m telling you directly as your Elder that if you aren’t going to a small group your discipleship is going to struggle. I know this as I struggle when I don’t go and Yes often its really hard work to go out again in the evening after a hard day at work etc, because it is hard and I’ve done that many times!! but I know I’ve always been blessed when I’ve got there. Even when I haven’t wanted to go 😊 Small groups are a way to build relationships with others and build friendship, be prayed for, ask questions, talk about stuff, just live life together. Just like Jesus did with his disciples. It is so, so, so, so, so, so, so important to every area of our church. I cannot stress it anymore!!! Presently we have four small groups running
They’ve all got slightly different flavour and styles but its all good 😊 Please pray the group leaders for wisdom and the Holy Spirit as they lead We also want to plant more groups eventually in every area of Blackburn. Kind of invade each community in Blackburn bit by bit!! So pray for growth in numbers and depth. So if not part of one already pray about getting yourself to a small group!!! Wait have I already said that??!! 😊 Helpful Bible Verses Acts 5:42 And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Often when you say things as a joke there can be truth in it and this happened to me last year at the church family meeting.
I was asked the question “What do you think your objective is as a church leader?” If I knew what I was doing, at that point, I probably should have had a well-prepared vision statement with a five-point plan and a five and ten year process and programs, objective and strategies etc…. I didn’t really have any of these however, this is what came out of my mouth, which I think was more Holy Spirit inspired than Stephen Norcross inspired!!: My first objective as a church leader is that when I meet Jesus, He will say to me “Well done good and faithful servant” My second objective, as a church leader, is that I’ve done everything I can to assist you, so Jesus says the same to you when you meet Him! We want to see the church grow. We want to see salvation's and lives changed. However, we want to see our church family grow in their walk and discipleship with Jesus! Therefore, my greatest concern is the churches grows in its walk with Jesus both corporately and individually. The great commission is not to make church attenders or have a large multisite church with smoke machine and excellence etc. (Although in themselves these are not necessarily bad things) The great commission is not to make shallow conversions, where Jesus does not have any effect in lives or behaviour. The great commission is to make disciples! and that is a very, very different thing. The Apostle Paul in his letters also seems to spend more space than anything else exhorting Christians to go deeper with Jesus and seems to be far more interested in the walk and discipleship of the church, than their numerically growth which he doesn’t seem to mention very much at all. So finally, thoughts for you about discipleship ask yourselves these questions: How’s your walk with Jesus going? How’s your faith and trust in Jesus? How’s your love for Jesus and others? How’s is you Hope in Jesus going, in your difficult situations? Are you becoming more faithful and obedient to Jesus in your life? Are you growing in the fruits of the spirit? Are you seeing more love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness in your life or less? How’s your prayer life? Are there areas of unforgiveness in your life? How you getting on with the bible? Are there areas in your life where your struggling? Are you drifting away? If this is you talk to somebody or pray? Please pray for a deeper discipleship within our church. Please pray for more love of Christ in all areas of our lives and I do believe that God wants the church to grow numerically, but I also know that healthy sheep have lambs!!! Helpful Bible Verses (Thought I’d put this in as preaching on this, this morning) 😊 Colossians 3 Living as Those Made Alive in Christ Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Amen!!! Community Church Blackburn has been a little like a wandering tribe on the move for the last ten years.
Originally we were meeting in several places in Shadsworth, then a few years ago we moved to several buildings in Blackburn town centre and since February 2016 we have been meeting in the worship centre at Wesley Hall. What can we learn about God from this? Well God has always provided the right place at the right time for us to meet! Even at short notice. We have never missed a meeting due to lack of a place. God is a wonderful provider and He has never failed? Secondly the building isn’t church. We are the church! Community Church Blackburn has never been entirely dependent on a physical building. As mentioned previously, as a church we have been gifted over the years £100,000 penciled in for a building. A few years ago, as a leadership team and church we made a concerted effort to seek out a building however God was silent! What we were looking for was a building with the following:
God was gracious and delivered most of that with Wesley Hall. Every time I go into Wesley Hall I see a sign saying ‘Wesley Hall Dedicated to the Glory of God’ I would love to see that happening more and more not less and less. Wesley Hall is a wonderful building and recently we have been praying for God to give it to us completely!! Why? because we want to see the Kingdom of God advance in Blackburn!!! And Gods light to shine as bright as possible in that place. We need space for all the plans God has for us. We want a building which is filled with ministries expressing Gods love and building Gods kingdom 24/7 Have we got the resources and expertise as a church to deal with it. Probably not!! However, I do know we have a big God who has always provided what we need and is good. Would it be scary. Yes!!! But I know God says do not be afraid for I am with you!! Would the Methodist give it to us? Don’t know! However I know God is sovereign and He holds all things for those who love him. Please pray for Wesley Hall. Please pray for Wisdom and Grace. God always has the right place for us to be for Him to be Glorified Pray for Wisdom, Faith and a total reliance on Jesus for the leadership team as we pray about this area. Pray thanking God for his incredible provision which he has always demonstrated, and we acknowledge he has the perfect plan for our church and church premises 😊 God is Good! Helpful Bible Verses Acts 5:42 And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ. 1 Peter 2:5 You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Psalm 84 How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. In the bible, particularly in the book Acts, we see the early church relating to each other via relationship and being served within apostolic networks led by people like Paul, Timothy, Titus, Aquilla and Pricilla, Apollos etc… with particular apostolic gifting.
As a church we believe God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and Gods ways are good and always the best!! Meaning there’s always great wisdom in taking heed of how the early church was set out in scripture. So therefore, we organise ourselves in a like fashion. If you want to talk to me or ask questions about this, please feel free. At Community Church Blackburn we are so blessed, as a church, to be part of the ChristCentral group of churches which is part of the Newfrontiers family of churches. If you want, have a look you can find our more here. https://christcentralchurches.org/ https://newfrontierstogether.org/ These are just some of the ways we are served by ChristCentral and New Frontiers often behind the scenes
There is so much going on and so many benefits and good things that I cannot succinctly express in the short space I have here. Again, if you want to talk to me about it or get more involved come and see me. Some specific things to pray for: Please pray for Jeremy and Anne Simpkins as they lead ChristCentral groups of Churches. They are coming and you will meet them on July 14th. Please pray for the preparations for Devoted and the team as these are huge and need prayer. Pray for the other ChristCentral churches in the area: Bolton, Macclesfield, Westhoughton, Liverpool, Salford, Stockport, Barnoldswick, Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Lancaster, Whitehaven etc.. as they are on the same mission as us and doing amazing stuff!! Also I believe God has put on my heart a vision of the Lancashire ChristCentral churches worshiping and praying together. Wouldn’t that be wonderful!! Please pray while I explore and pray and consult with our oversight Altogether please pray for all those involved in ChristCentral, thank God for them and pray for a deeper, more fruitful relationship with them for the Glory of God and the Building of the Kingdom. Helpful Bible Verses Ephesians 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues. Titus 1:5 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you I love the book of Romans written by the Apostle Paul. It’s a classic!!!
One of the reasons I particularly love it, is God revealed to me through it, what true worship was and trust me I had some very faulty ideas! I used to think that worship was just about music but it’s not! Music is just one wonderful, glorious, celebration of what God is doing in our hearts. Paul in the first part of his letter to the Romans sets out everything that Jesus has done for us and then in Chapter 12 he says this (In light of what he’d set out previously) dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.’ In the Old Testament the people of Israel made two kind of sacrifices at the Tabernacle. The first was for sin. They would have to sacrifice a spotless, perfect animal if they had done something wrong. This sacrifice has been fulfilled in Christ on a cross. The second was a thanks giving offering. You would bring something to the Tabernacle to say thank you to God. Thanking him for who he is, thanking him for his provision etc… This is the Sacrifice I believe that Paul is alluding to in Romans and he’s saying true worship is living your life in a way that give thanks and glory to God. Whats the motivation for Christians to live there life well? Why do Christians do seemingly do illogical self sacrificial ,good things? Not because we need to earn favour with God! Not because we need to get so many points to get to heaven, not even because God needs you to do anything for him? He doesn't!!! As Christians, in view of all the amazing, wonderful, gracious, merciful things God has done for us. Why wouldn’t we live our lives as a thanksgiving offering, in a thankful way, giving Him glory? If you’re not already doing so, in view of what Jesus has done for you, live your life in a way that is thankful and this is Truly worship!!! Worship is your entire life not just music and singing n a Sunday!! Back to the music on a Sunday. I hope you are really blessed by it, I certainly am. I’ve worshiped in some massive places and churches, with professional bands, with light and smoke machines and choirs etc but there is no place I’d rather worship, or experience the presence of God in worship quite in the way I do, at Community Church Blackburn. There’s something very special about worshiping with your own church family. Being a talented musician and being an anointed worship leader are two very different things and we are so, so blessed to have Andy Berry and Pete Smith leading us in worship regularly. Please pray for them both, as I know it take hours of preparation and prayer each week to bring us our worship on a Sunday. Please pray that we experience more of the, tangible presence of God in our worship, because in that place is where we will see prophecy, tongues, interpretations, visions, and healing's as its in that space as a church, we will see more of the supernatural gifts exercised. Presently our musical worship is led in the format of guitar and singers, but we want, in faith, to see our worship group widen its tent pegs! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see keyboards, percussion, Bass etc…. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see our young people, involved and discipled in this area! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have more that one instrument? If your interested go have a chat with Pete Smith. All this need careful thought and prayer, a lot of work, faith and God’s grace. So keep praying for all of the above. For God to move and I just wasn’t to see God to be honoured and glorified more and more in our musical worship and in our lives corporately, as a church. I hope you are excited. I am and you should be 😊 God is good 😊 Helpful Bible Verses 1 Chronicles 16:23-31 Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendour and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place. Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendour of his holiness. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” Acts 16:25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Colossians 3:16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. The Alpha course is one of the greatest expressions of the Good News of Jesus around today. I thank God for the Alpha Course and the Alpha team who provide amazing resources explaining Christianity accurately, graciously and wisely.
I love doing Alpha. I love meeting and watching people build friendship with each other over the course. I love watching people who don’t believe in Jesus, being worked on by Holy Spirit through the videos and discussion. I love praying for people to be filled with the Holy Spirit on Alpha. I love difficult questions and fiery debate! I love everything about it. It’s one of my most favourite things and if I could, I would run Alpha course all day everyday 😊 Also through the Youth Alpha’s run at our church I’ve had the privilege of watching the Holy Spirit sweep through our youth, giving them great foundations for their faith. God is good! I love the Bible is one-year app with Nicky Gumbel and Pippa adds! . If you’ve never used it have a look. https://www.bibleinoneyear.org/ At Community Church Blackburn we run an adult Alpha Course cycle starting in January to Easter and we’ve had over 20 people attend this year. It’s been a wonderful mix of different ages, backgrounds and spiritual journeys. Please pray for God to continue to move them closer to Him. I’d love to run Alpha’s 52 weeks a year, so if you’re interested in forming a team or have a heart for this, come and see me. Finally I want to see salvation and Alpha works! If you haven’t done one, or if you have friends and family, who you’d love to come to faith its a really friendly non threatening way of talking about it. Get yourself and them on an Alpha course. If you want a taster of the videos you can watch them all here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBMMD5C0k-s Helpful Bible Verses 1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. I believe a formative Sunday in Community Church Blackburn’s life was when Alastair Murdoch, from Re:ignite Church, came to preach at the beginning of 2016 and lobbed what I consider several prophetic hand grenades into our church.
It was a very raw, difficult time for us as a church and God real moved through him and I give God the Glory for his bravery and obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit that morning. One of those hand grenades thrown was asking us as a church ‘What tribe are we?’ This question, itself, assumes that we are not isolated as a church in Blackburn, we are just a small part of Gods plan in a larger people of God in the geographical area of Blackburn and then again in this nation and then further afield in the world. Theology, doctrine and teaching are very, very, very important and wrong teaching is extremely destructive and produces bad spiritual fruit in the church however, I’m 100% certain when I meet Jesus he won’t ask, did you get your theology right? He will ask me do you Love me? Therefore, if you believe in the Apostles Creed, love Jesus and are filled with the Holy Spirit you're good with me 😊 I believe strongly in the universal church of Jesus across the world comprised of faithful believers. I believe there is a people of God in Blackburn scatted among the churches with different worship styles, cultural background traditions, languages, with often different opinions about things. However if we want to see the rule and reign of Jesus in our city and nation, we need to advance the kingdom, as one people, together. RISE is unity a movement http://www.riseunitymovement.org/# which wants to bring more of Gods Kingdom into Blackburn through churches praying together, worshiping together, honouring each other and working together. I believe Community Church Blackburn should be at the heart of this. Please pray for the steering group as it meets. For Gods anointing, boldness and guidance. Also pray for other churches in our town. Pray for Reignite, The Beacon Church, Blackburn Baptist, Vineyard, The Methodist churches, The Catholic church, The CofE churches, Colin and Richards church on Shadsworth, The United Reform Churches, The Nigerian Churches and the list goes on and on.We’re all on the same side, which is Jesus and what we disagree about is infinitely less important than what we share. I want to see revival in Blackburn, Blackburn isn’t rubbish, God loves Blackburn so, so, so much. I want to fight a spiritual war of Love, not against people but against dark powers and authorities in Blackburn, like poverty, injustice, addiction and Hopelessness. That’s our promised land, that’s our fight. But we need, as a people of God, in Blackburn to fight it together. Helpful Bible Verses Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! 1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY. Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. |
