Day 1: Saturday 14th March 2020 Prayer for salvation
Thoughts As I write this I’ve just sat down after finishing my dinner whilst watching the news. If you’ve switched it on recently, it is all about coronavirus and my last few jobs have been sending emails and text messages getting the church ready for the next few weeks. Please continue to pray for the nations, our nation, our government, authorities, our health service and particular the safety and wellbeing of the more vulnerable people in society. We need to get on our knees and ask God for mercy!! There is another virus that has 100% infection rate and 100% mortality rate. Every terrible, evil thing, all the suffering that has ever happened in the world being its symptoms! It causes self-isolation from Father God and isolation from loving relationships with our neighbours. It didn’t emanate from China but came from the lies of Satan and disobedient hearts in the garden of Eden. Unfortunately, this virus is chronic and hereditary. Passing though generation after generation! This virus is called sin. However, the Good news is we have the cure!! The cure is Jesus Christ!!! and the church is the holder and the keeper of that cure. Hope I’ve painted a mental picture for you, but we are living in a reality that stark!! Surely as a church we want to be able to administer this cure and bring people back to spiritual health and life in Jesus! This requires prayer. Today spend time praying for people you know. Pray for them to come to faith in Jesus. Yes we need to tell them. But we also need to call on God for them. Write yourself a list!! I don’t know about you, but I want to see more salvations, more people being born again, more baptisms in our church, town and country and we won’t see that without prayer. So lets pray 😊 Hallelujah come Lord Jesus!!! Helpful Bible Verses Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 3:14 – 16 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Luke 10 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field Mark 16:15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
